	PUBLISHING AND ROYALTIES Spook Publishing will collect all royalties due to clients for original songs for performances and mechanical reproduction. There are many sources of royalties that most small acts never attempt to collect. If you sign up for our publishing deal,we will do this for you. We collect royalties from PRS, MCPS and PPL. These organisations collect royalties for public performance, CDs, radio and television play and adverts. We can also collect gigs and club royalties on your behalf. These are royalties due for gigs in pubs, clubs, hotels, bars, weddings ect. These royalties can be backdates till 2004. Each payment is worth about £6 so if you've done 100 gigs since 2004 you're due about £600! Now the catch! Spook Records publishing deal is industry standard which is a straight 50/50 split with the artist. This is a completely normal split. If you're Elton John, you may be in a postion to negotiate a 75/25 split, but if you're not selling as many records as him, forget it! 50/50 it has to be. Royalties are paid twice a year and you pay nothing to sign up. We ask you to send us details of every gig you do and what songs you played along with details of the writers. If you want to apply for back dated royalties, we will need the same details for all your gigs and tunes since January 2004. We must stress that this applies only to your own songs and not covers. As part of the service, we will assign ISRC codes to all of your songs. These codes are embedded into every CD you make (we can do this for you), then, when your CD is played on the radio, you will recieve a royalty payment for that play. We will also, if you wish, place your CDs on all major download sites such as i Tunes, HMV, Virgin, ect, collect all payments for you and allocate you your cut. Please note, you do not need to record with us to be published by us. We can also publish your past recordings and put these on download. To do this we will need a properly mastered CD. If your CD is not mastered, we will do this for you at no extra cost. We will also, attempt to place your recordings in TV and radio adverts and with film companies. We will handle all the required licensing involved, collect payment and pay your cut to you twice a year. There is money to be made from your original songs. Just simply let us put them out there for you.
